Faith Formation

The St. Joseph's Faith Formation staff believes in  Pope John Paul's vision of catechesis.

"...put people not only in touch, but in communion, and in intimacy, with Jesus Christ; only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity." CatechesiTradandae, Pope John Paul II, 1979.

Our Faith Formation staff works to assists parents in their responsibility to bring up their children within their Catholic faith. The Youth Faith Rormation classes provide faith formation classes and service activities that allow young students to grow closer and form a relationship with Jesus Christ that will remain with them throughout their life.  We work to provide opportunities for our students to be a part of the church, understand the value of prayer, as well as prepare them for an understanding and participation in the sacraments of the Catholic Church.

St. Joseph's Adult Faith Formation Program provides opportunities for adults to grow stronger in their faith. Our goal is to lead all parishioners to a deeper belief and renewal of his or her Christian faith.

For those who are new to the Catholic Church, or those who have never been baptized the R.C.I.A program will prepare them them for the sacraments of initiation. This program also serves to explain and teach all parishioners about the many rich symbols, sacraments and traditions of the Catholic Church.

Additional Faith Formation avenues are available through retreats like the highly successful A.C.T.S Retreat program, bible study groups and special programs and events throughout the year.

We encourage all to take advantage of the opportunities to grow in their Christian faith and help others attain a deeper relationship with the Lord through:

  • Adoration – the call by, acceptance of, and response to God,
  • Community – the love and caring of each other,
  • Theology – the study of God through scripture and the Catholic Faith,
  • Service – to God and his people.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is an evangelization ministry

The weekend allows the retreatants to experience God’s love and joy. They return to their parish with a deeper love for each other and a desire to become more involved in their parish community.
